Stop Smoking

Hypnosis has been successfully used by many people to help them to stop smoking.  It works best when the client has a strong desire and reason to stop smoking but can also be useful in helping clients without the desire to actually stop by allowing them to reduce the amount they smoke throughout the day. 

Some people will find that they only require one session to stop smoking but others may appreciate the value of top up sessions .

Build Confidence

Confidence can be increased by the hypnotherapist with the use of positive and constructive suggestions designed for you. Suggestions such as :  ‘You see yourself as a confident person’ or ‘You can now take control of your life, become the confident person you want to be’ are part of the session.  However the more personal and relevant the suggestions are the more the positive suggestions will be able replace negative thoughts.

It is likely that the client will need more than one session to build up their confidence and the therapist may set tasks between sessions to further increase the client’s confidence both in themselves and the therapy.

Eating Disorders (Weight Loss)

The most common reason for a client to see a hypnotherapist for an eating disorder to is lose weight.  It is important that the client attends a pre-hypnosis session to enable the hypnotherapist to ascertain the cause of the disorder as few weight problems are caused simply by over-eating and simply telling someone under hypnosis to cut down on certain foods is unlikely to produce a lasting effect.  The information the therapist gains in the initial session will allow them to devise an individual plan of treatment aimed at the root of the disorder thus encouraging a greater success for the client.

Weight loss is possible after only one session but it is likely that the client will benefit from further top-up sessions until the desired weight is achieved.

Panic / Anxiety

Panic and anxiety can often be either cleared or reduced with hypnosis.  It may be suggested by the therapist that you return to the original cause of the anxiety and deal with the problem in regression.  It is important that you attend a pre-hypnosis session to enable to therapist to be clear about what anxieties you may have and to allow the therapist to reassure you of the hypnotic process.

It is impossible to say how many sessions may be required for panic or anxiety but some reduction should be achieved after the first session.

Stress

 

Stress can be caused by many things within our lives, for example work situations or personal events such as marriage, divorce, the birth of a child or even Christmas time.  How we deal with this stress varies from person to person.  Hypnotherapy can help by encouraging relaxation and stress reduction techniques. 

A single session can be very useful in dealing with stress but as each person handles their stress in different ways it is up to each person to decide for themselves how many session they want.

Relaxation

Hypnosis is an ideal way of learning relaxation.  It can enable you to experience various states of relaxation and by the use of suggestion it can make it easier for you to re-enter a relax state.  This can be done by guided visualisation or by a progressive full body relaxation.

One session is often enough to allow you to achieve your required state of relaxation.

Concentration

 

Concentration is improved by the use of relaxation and hypnotic suggestions allowing you to have the level of concentration that you require.   This can be especially useful in exam situations where you need to have a calm mind to enable you to focus on the exam.

One to two sessions are normally enough to help improve concentration.

Nail biting

 

Nail biting is often simply a habit which has become established and is often outside our conscious control.  Hypnosis enables you to become aware of biting your nails and with that awareness and the aid of hypnotic suggestions to bring the nail biting to an end.

One to two sessions should solve this problem.

Phobias

 

There are many different phobias that people suffer from and each is disabling to the sufferer.  Hypnosis has been successful in dealing with phobias but it would be necessary to attend a pre-hypnosis session to ascertain the suitability of hypnosis in each individual case.

It is not possible to suggest a likely number of sessions for phobias – however it should be possible to agree a limited number of sessions after the pre-hypnosis session.

Depression

 

As with phobias and panic – depression has many different causes and many different levels.  Although some relief may be obtained after the first few sessions if the depression has been long term it is unlikely that it will be resolved without undergoing a course of regular hypnosis.  It is important to attend a pre-hypnosis session to discuss the various options.

Past life regression

 

There can be many reasons for wanting to undergo past life regression – maybe you would like to know what connections people in this life had with you in the past.  Possibly you have a problem, phobia or recurring pattern in your life and you would like to know the origin.  Or maybe you just simply want to know if and when you have lived before.

If you are just curious then one session may be enough to satisfy that curiosity.  The number of past life sessions you want to experience is totally up to you.
